Malmö's Christmas market is on Gustav Adolfs torg in the city centre, open Thursday to Sunday on all four weekends of Advent: 26 November – 20 December 2026, 11am–6pm. Kulturen in Lund holds its Christmas fair on the first weekend of Advent and Fredriksdal in Helsingborg on the second, and the castle fairs at Bosjökloster and Övedskloster fall on the first and third. Malmö Christmas market on Gustav Adolfs torg 2026

The market is run by the city-centre association Malmö City and is open 11am–6pm every Thursday to Sunday through Advent – 26 November – 20 December 2026. The stallholders are local and regional craftspeople, and the line-up changes over the season: some stay for the whole run, others come for just one or two weekends. It is held on an open square, so there is no ticket.

Lund: the Christmas fair at Kulturen

Kulturen, the open-air museum in the centre of Lund, holds its Christmas fair on 27–29 November 2026: Friday 4–8pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am–6pm. In 2025 there were 90 sellers, the museum's historic houses showed how Christmas used to be celebrated, and there was a Lucia procession and music. Admission is SEK 160 for adults and SEK 125 for senior citizens and students; under-18s go free. Kulturen does not take cash, and very few of the market's vendors do either. The museum is at Tegnérsplatsen, next to Lundagård and the cathedral, a 10-minute walk from Lund Central Station.

Helsingborg: Jul på Fredriksdal

Fredriksdal, Helsingborg's open-air museum, holds its Christmas market on 4–6 December 2026: Friday 1–7pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am–6pm. About a hundred sellers offer spices, bread, sweets, marzipan, sausages and crafts; in the houses and farmsteads you can see how Christmas was prepared, there is dancing round the tree, and the manor house has this year's Christmas exhibition. As it gets dark, thousands of candles and torches are lit. Admission is SEK 175, free for children and young people up to 18. From Helsingborg Central Station, city buses 1, 2, 7, 22 and 26 take about seven minutes to the Stattena stop, and bus 5 goes to Fredriksdalsplatsen, 250 metres from the main entrance. Sofiero, the royal summer palace in Helsingborg, has no Christmas market in its 2026 programme; its season ends with Novent, a quieter winter event, on 20–29 November.

Castle fairs and other markets in Skåne

Bosjökloster by Lake Ringsjön opens Skånska Juldagarna on 27–29 November 2026 (Friday 11am–5pm, Saturday 10am–5pm, Sunday 10am–4pm): children can hunt for presents in the maze and park, ride in a cart or on a pony and meet Father Christmas in the barn. Adults pay SEK 110, or SEK 70 after 3pm on Sunday; under-16s go free. JUL på Övedskloster near Sjöbo, on the third weekend of Advent (11–13 December 2026), is bigger than ever this year with more than 140 exhibitors and a Lucia procession; it opens on the Friday evening (3–8pm, then 10am–5pm at the weekend), costs SEK 120 for everyone over 14 and has free parking. Tykarpsgrottan, the underground caverns outside Hässleholm that are otherwise shown on guided tours, holds a Christmas market on 4–6 December 2026. Svaneholm Castle near Skurup holds its market before Advent, on 15 November 2026 (11am–4pm).

Getting there and paying

If you fly into Copenhagen, Öresund trains (Öresundståg) call at the airport and cross the bridge to Malmö C; buy your ticket from the machines at the airport station, because none are sold on board. From Malmö Airport, the Flygbussarna coach takes about 40–50 minutes to the city. For Helsingborg, the ferry from Helsingør takes 20 minutes and runs every 20 minutes during the day. Within Skåne, you can tap a contactless bank card on the green city buses; on trains, buy and activate a ticket in the Skånetrafiken app before you board; to pay cash, go to a ticket agent. Sweden is one of the most cashless countries in the world, so bring a card.
